Getting ready for Christmas

We're getting ready to re-open next week - all being well.  We're also getting the shop all ready for Christmas.

I love this time of year when the shop begins to feel really warm and cosy and smell like Christmas. The fragrances of all the candles, soaps, diffusers combine together making the whole place smell fab and this year we'll be adding Jo Browne's 'Christmas' diffuser blend.

I did finish all the large baubles - fourteen of them - and we had great fun yesterday putting them up! Let me know what you think.  We've still a little more to do - the tree is up but needs lights and Rudolph has taken up his place on the landing but will look much better with some tinsel etc. so no photos till we're done!

Meet Mia!

I want to introduce you to one of our very local designers Mia of Handbags by Mia - she's a little camera shy so no photos!  Mia lives and works in the heart of Enniskerry just two minutes away from The Design Loft.  In fact you'll often see her in the gallery. Mia is no stranger to the retail business having owned and run a fabric shop in Bray for some years. She is also a wonderful knitter and uses this skill in producing the most adorable bags and bowls. After she knits the items she then hand felts them and forms them into these gorgeous pieces. I got one of these bags as a Christmas gift last year and I've used it practically every day since then and it's still in perfect condition.  Made from 100% wool these bags are made to last.  I couldn't recommend them more- so stylish and so durable.

It's a wrap

Everyone loves to wrap up warm and McNutt wraps are perfect for this.  Their beautiful cashmere wraps  are so soft and warm and a great price at €69.95.  Might be one to pop in the shopping basket!

See you soon...

We're really looking forward to opening up our physical shop again on the 1st December so let's all do what we can to get those numbers down and let our country open up again. Stay home and stay safe and we'll see you again very soon.
