Trinity College Dublin: Front Square from the Campanile (2499S-M7)
I have been a photographer since I was barely old enough to hold my mother’s Box Brownie camera. Advances in photographic technology since then have been dramatic but the basic satisfaction of seeing the potential picture and making it happen remains exactly the same and that’s where I concentrate whenever I have the camera to my eye.
The camera is not merely the means of recording people, life and times but also a powerful tool for the artist in me. With the advent of high quality digital photography came the opportunity to turn photographic images into a new kind of fine art - and that is what I do.
Each Christoffersen piece is created from my own digital photography, which I then carefully abstract using a range of different processes to strip out colour and texture and produce a piece of art rather than a photograph.
Every Christoffersen piece is giclee printed using archival quality pigment inks, on handmade watercolour paper. If you would like your piece framed, we use a local artisan framer who produces a custom made white hardwood frame for each piece.
All prints are individually signed by David - mounted prints are signed on the face of the mount, while rolled or framed pieces are signed directly on the paper, immediately below the print.
This print is available in the following formats:
Small Mount: A 12cm x 12cm print mounted in a 20cm square white mount, ready for framing.
Medium Mount: A 20cm x 20cm print mounted in a 30cm square white mount, ready for framing.
Small Frame: A 12cm x 12cm print in a handmade solid hardwood white frame. Internal frame size 20cm square.
Medium Frame: A 20cm x 20cm print in a handmade solid hardwood white frame. Internal frame size 30cm square.
Large Frame: A 30cm x 30cm print in a handmade solid hardwood white frame. Internal frame size 50cm square.
Large Roll: A 30cm x 30cm print, rolled and ready for framing (perfect for international shipping).
Extra Large Roll: A 35cm x 35cm print, rolled and ready for framing (perfect for international shipping).
Each format is available for shipping worldwide. However, due to the difficulty of shipping framed pieces, we stronglyrecommend that you order a rolled piece (or mount) if you are having it shipped internationally. These will be delivered securely in a postal tube, ready for framing. We recommend that you do not unroll the piece until you get to your local framer, just to make sure that the print is fully protected.
To make this even easier for you, we offer free worldwide shipping on David's rolled prints!
All of David's work is available in custom sizes and framing options, so please do get in touch if you have something particular in mind! We often produce prints on stretched canvas, for example, and have recently launched an option to have your print mounted behind acrylic glass for a striking, modern look.
